Aregbesola flays media for reporting opposition activities



THE Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola has threatened to deal with media organisations for reporting the views of opposition parties on activities of the state government.

The governor, in a video clip in Osogbo yesterday, made the declaration during the commencement of distribution of plastic chairs and desks to schools in the state.The ceremony was held at the premises of Adenle Middle School, Osogbo.

Making reference to media reports on unpaid salaries crisis in thestate, the governor said some newspapers supported hisadversaries to lie against his administration.

He said: “They didn’t spare us on any platform, even today, they liedagainst us and some shameless organs of mass communication supportedthem.
“Say shame on them, shame! All of them and those who are supportingthem. Some newspapers knew they were lying, yet they supported them.
“Newspapers are meant to educate the people, they are not meant toincite the public against the government. I say it openly let them challenge me.
“You can’t be attacking us and expect us to be quiet, we shall fightback. The time has come for us to fight back, we will fight back.”
