Anambra PDP faction insists on credible congress
CHAIRMAN of a faction of the Anambra State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), known as Equity Group, Osita Ezenwa, has asked the National Working Committee (NWC) to quickly conduct a free, fair and credible congress in the state.
Ezenwa told journalists at Abagana that the party could only regain its lost glory in the state, which he noted is predominantly a PDP state, by so doing, noting that the party’s dwindling fortunes is because of those he described as princes without principalities.
He alleged that a few individuals who have been carrying on as overlords are the real enemies of the party, as they are always opposed to any system that would make power originate from the people.
“Some of these people who are causing problems in our party are showmen that put on flowing gowns during rallies and outdoor activities but in the real sense of it, they are truly not with us,” he said.
Asked to comment on the alleged suspension of Comrade Tony Nwoye, himself and other members of his group, he said that such suspension could only be conceived by those opposed to the progress of the PDP in Anambra.
However, he disclosed that those allegedly suspending the heroes of the party have been dismissed from the party by the NWC long ago and that there was no verifiable record that they have been recalled.
He urged the NWC, headed by Uche Secondus, to dissociate itself from the charade in the state and put in motion what would ensure a credible congress in the state if the dream of reclaiming the Anambra Government House would not end in another nightmare.
Meanwhile, he urged President Muhammadu Buhari to started thinking of what his administration would do for Nigerians, as diminishing returns would soon set when people start measuring his performance.
