The Lagos State governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, on Thursday restated his administration’s commitment to run an open, credible and transparent administration.

Ambode said this during a courtesy visit on him by Mr Olufemi Deru, the 51st President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), at the Lagos House, Ikeja.

He said as a student who passed through the Institute, Lagosians should not expect anything less than an administration of good governance in the next four years.

”We are glad to receive you because what ICAN stands for is actually what Lagos stands for in the past 16 years, and I promise that this administration will always support ICAN.

“We do boast of a great number of chartered accountants in Nigeria, and I am a very proud member of the institution,” he said.
Ambode appealed to the ICAN president to help implore more of its members to come into the civil service and lend their experience s and professionalism.

”I am a very good student of good governance and we are committed to open, credible and transparent government.

”This is because we represent that bridge of technocrats and professionals that touch the lives of people of the state”, he said.
Earlier, The ICAN President, Deru, congratulated Ambode on his success at the polls.

He also commiserated with the governor on the June 2 incidence when a tanker explosion occurred in the state, barely two days after his inauguration.
Deru also seized the opportunity to invite the governor to the annual ICAN conference scheduled to hold from Aug. 31 to Sept. 4, with the theme: ‘’ICAN : Building on A Legacy of Service’’.
