Ambode pledges better security in Lagos schools

Kicks off construction of 10 modern structures

Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has assured parents of the safety of their children in schools across the state.He gave the assurance against the backdrop of recent increase in kidnapping of students in the state.

The governor spoke yesterday while inaugurating the construction of 10 modern schools in five districts in the state.Ambode, who was represented by his deputy, Dr. Idiat Adebule, said apart from ensuring adequate security in schools, his administration is committed to providing better opportunities for students.

He said the new schools with 12 laboratories, multi-purpose hall, sports field, staff rooms and car park, shows the premium government places on education in the state.

The governor appealed to students to be committed to their studies and shun criminal acts.The Chairman of State Assembly Committee on Education, Lanre Ogunyemi said the modern schools would provide conducive environment for teaching and learning.

The Special Adviser on Education to the Governor, Mr. Obafela Bank-Olemoh, commended Ambode for the massive investment in the education sector.
