Wife of the President of Nigeria, Mrs Aisha Buhari, has called on women to engage in activities that will foster unity and progress in the country.

Aisha gave the advice at the August 2015 Meeting of Imo Women held at the Heroes Square, Owerri on Friday.

She stated that Nigeria could only advance in an atmosphere of unity, love, and understanding.

Aisha, represented by wife of Vice President, Mrs Dolapo Osibanjo, commended the theme of the meeting: “Women Dare to Dream…It is possible”, advised women to live by it.

According to her, when women dream well Nigeria can never be the same.

She also enjoined women to bring up their children in the spirit of truth and knowledge of God.

Aisha commended the wife of Imo Governor, Mrs Nkechi Okorocha, for improving the lives of the less privileged women through her pet project designed to alleviate the burdens of indigent women.

Gov. Rochas Okorocha of Imo called on Nigerians to always give women a chance to exhibit their God-given potential, adding that “they are endowed with much wisdom, gift and intellect.

I never knew the depth of wisdom the almighty endowed my wife with and good heart she has until she was given the chance to impact on the lives of Imo women.’’

Okorocha thanked the president’s wife for finding time to honour the women in the state.

He also expressed gratitude to all the governor’s wives from the various states that graced the occasion.

Okorocha restated the support of Imo people to the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Imo women are solidly behind the government of President Muhammadu Buhari which is destined to succeed”, he said.

Wife of Imo Governor, Mrs Nkechi Okorocha, said the August meeting was a yearly programme.

She expressed gratitude to the president’s wife and her entourage, other state governor’s wives and Imo people for the success of the programme.

She said the theme of the occasion was to build in the women the desire to dream big for themselves, the family and Nigeria at large.

Nkechi said she was using the opportunity of her position to spur women of the state to dream big and achieve big.

She assured that she would continue to pilot the affairs of Imo women to enable them discover and promote hidden talents in them.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the president’s wife had commissioned some projects christened “She Needs A Roof Project (SNARP)”, initiative of Nkechi, for indigent women.
