Aisha Buhari, Ooni, Sanusi, others to be honoured by TELL Communications

The maiden edition of the yearly TELL Awards for Excellence would hold on June 17, 2017 at the Civic Centre, Ozumba, Mbadiwe Avenue, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The maiden edition of the yearly TELL Awards for Excellence would hold on June 17, 2017 at the Civic Centre, Ozumba, Mbadiwe Avenue, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Organised by TELL Communications Limited, publishers of TELL magazine, the TELL Awards for Excellence promises to be one of the most credible media honours in Nigeria.

According to the President and Chief Executive of TELL Communications, Mr. Nosa Igiebor, the selection and voting processes were thrown open to the public to ensure transparency.

The outcome of the public voting saw the emergence of: TELL Man of the Year – Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife and Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II; TELL Woman of the Year – wife of the President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari; Governor of the Year – Prof. Ben Ayade of Cross River State and Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State; National Icon of Democracy – former Lagos State Governor Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; CEO of the Year – Prof. Umar Garba Danbatta; Public Servant of the Year – Mohammed Babandede; Comptroller-General of Immigration.

Others are: Pioneer Entrepreneur Of The Year – Chief Leo Stan Ekeh; Public Organisation Of The Year – Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA); Private Organisation of the Year – Dangote Cement Plc.; Banker of the Year – Bank of Industry; Private Airline of the Year – Air Peace Airline; Post-Humous National Hero Award – Mr. Dele Giwa and Chief Gani Fawehinmi (SAN)

The awards ceremony, according to Igiebor, will attract dignitaries from the public and private sectors, diplomatic corps, among others.
