7 arraigned, granted bail over Ogembe attack

At least seven suspects allegedly linked with the disruption of the women’s empowerment programme organised by Senator Ahmed Ogembe last Saturday in Okene, were arraigned before a senior Magistrate Court sitting in Lokoja.

At least seven suspects allegedly linked with the disruption of the women’s empowerment programme organised by Senator Ahmed Ogembe last Saturday in Okene, were arraigned before a senior Magistrate Court sitting in Lokoja.

In her ruling, Senior Magistrate Ojoma Racheal Haruna granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N20, 000 and a surety each in like sum, stressing that the surety and defendants must submit 2 passport photographs each and to sign a bond to be of good behavior.

The accused persons were dragged before the court for committing criminal conspiracy and mischief and counsels to the accused persons, M, A. Abbas and M J Samuel made application for bail. Prosecutor, Oladipupo Abimola objected to the bail application.

In a separate First Information Reports, the accused persons, Moshood Shuaibu Onimisi Abdullazeez Yusuf Otaru Musa Onipe, Innocent Iliyasu Momoh and Jimoh Raji and others at large had allegedly conspired to disrupt the programme organised by Senator Ahmmed Ogembe.

The Magistrate adjourned the case till 28th March 2018 while ordering the immediate transfer of the case file to the senior Magistrate Court in Okene.
