3,322 intending pilgrims transported to Saudi Arabia from Kaduna State

The Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Board on Monday said that 3,322 intending pilgrims had been transported to Saudi Arabia from Kaduna State since Aug.1.

The Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Board on Monday said that 3,322 intending pilgrims had been transported to Saudi Arabia from Kaduna State since Aug.1.

The board’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Yunusa Abdullahi, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna that they comprised 2,390 males and 932 females.

According to him, Med-View Airline has transported 2,230 intending pilgrims from seven flights while Max Airline transported 1,092 intending pilgrims through two flights.

He said that the intending pilgrims were from Giwa, Kachia,Kauru, Kajuru, Igabi, Jama’a, Kagarko, Kudan, Makarfi, Kubau, Sabon Gari, Jaba, Birnin Gawri, Kaduna North Kaduna South , and Ikara Local government Areas of the state.

He said that intending pilgrims from Kaduna South and Zaria Local Government area would be transported on Monday.

According to him, the board had made all necessary arrangements to ensure the security and comfort of the intending pilgrims.

The PRO said that the overseer of the board, Imam Hussaini Tshoho, had advised the intending pilgrims to be good ambassadors of Nigeria and abide by the laws of Saudi Arabian Government.

Abdullahi also quoted Tshoho as saying that no fewer than 6,600 intending pilgrims from Kaduna State were expected to perform the year’s pilgrimage.
