Skin care products are sometimes packed with all sorts of chemicals, most of which we can barely pronounce. For most people, the idea of taking good care of their skin is imagined to be a strenuous process, followed by some “foreign” expensive products. Most likely suggested by friends, family, colleagues and sometimes- random strangers, these products promise to work all kinds of magic when in reality, the answers to our problems are much simpler than imagined.

I really try not to follow unworthy trends but this is certainly sure to create remarkable skin improvements and on the plus side, it really doesn’t cost half as much as the usual chemically infused products. An essential body care secret we should have gathered by now is that the most expensive luxurious products in the world all contain elements attained from natural oils, most of which are easily accessible to us, particularly in their raw state. This exfoliation process works perfectly for oily, normal combination and dry skin.

The benefit of exfoliation goes beyond getting your skin to feel significantly softer than usual. The process helps in removing dry or dead skin cells on the skin surface. Most people do no recognise its relevance as the most important aspects of your regular skincare routine. Exfoliation is not only recognised a suitable remedy to many skin problems, it also helps to increase blood circulation, which will give your skin that healthy glow.

All you need is sugar and of course of your essential oil and if we stick to our kitchen theme, grab yourself some olive oil. Although sugar is terrible for your digestive system, it’s great for your skin. Generally you should measure about the same amount for each, let’s say ½ a cup of both and an optional table spoon of honey. If you are keen on getting deeply natural, then use organic brown sugar paired with virgin olive oil and manuka honey.

The mix can be applied using circular motions on any part of your body, particularly on your lips and under your feet, to remove dead skin as well as knees and elbows, to remove darker spots. The procedure is also recommended for facials because while the sugar leaves you skin significantly softer, your pores also richly absorb the olive oil. Be sure to add this to your regular facial routine at least 2-3 times a week and you’ll be pleased with the results.
