Being a large nation with a large mass, one can only think of all the things to experience if ever on a visit. Today, I’d be highlighting a few things from the culture of Indian people.

Food

Indian dishes vary from one region to another, according to cultural diversity and demographics. A significant portion of Indian food is vegetarian, though many of their traditional dishes include chicken, beef, lamb, fish and other meats. Indians are known to love spicy food and the use of spices in the enhancement of aroma, flavor and preparation of meals varies, and this is as a result of other cultural influences throughout history.

You find that the staple foods from India include pearl millet, rice, whole-whole flour beans and variety lentils. Sweet dishes are often seasoned with cardamom, saffron, nutmeg and rose petal essences.

Fashion

Culture in immediate environment, climate, rural/urban settings are some of the factors that influence the way Indians are dresses. Traditionally, women are dressed in draped garments including Assari’s while men are in their Panche attires. Jewelry and make up are used like other women to beautify themselves. Bindi is a glaring mark on an Indian woman’s forehead, and it happens to be an essential part of the Hindu woman’s make-up. Traditionally, red Bindi are worn by married Hindu women and colored Bindi by single women, but over time, having a Bindi has become a fashion statement for all.

The extent to which they go on these is usually determined by the religion of the bride and groom in question.
