Stranger is owned by Yegwa Ukpo and his wife, Bibi, who were inspired to open the store to share their ideas and curiosities of the world around them. Stranger started out as concept boutique that stocks many alternative international and local fashion designers such as Kenneth Ize, Kelechi Odu, Umi-1, PeirWu, among others. They recently expanded to include a mini café and bar that serves freshly brewed continental teas, coffees and whiskies alongside pastries and light snacks. They also have co-working space that allows customers to have access to free Wi-Fi and a quiet place to work.

With the expansion, Stranger has started hosting different activities at the store such as yoga and meditation, film screenings, and contemporary art installations and exhibitions. On Fridays, Stranger has a ‘Game Night’, where guests and regulars participate in playing various board and card games like Monopoly, Code Names, Cards against Humanity, and Scrabble among others.Stranger also plans to unveil an in-house band at the end of March.

Stranger is a creative world open to all. The store aims to keep on growing and expanding and hopefully creating a melting pot that draws various creatives and ideas together to create a long lasting impression on a growing art, fashion and design scene. The idea is to continuously explore a way to get people together over a shared love of beautiful and well made things, be it clothing, food, or even ideas.
