Why Is Wizkid Absent In “Kana” Video?
When Olamide and Wizkid’s collaboration Kana dropped, the Nigerian streets went crazy.
It was going to be one of the greatest hip hop hits in recent times and true to their judgment, Kana blew up in no time.
The same reaction was garnered when the video was released. An interesting and intriguing storyline, the video does justice to the hit song.
Shot by Nigerian director, SESAN in an Asian club, Olamide is a Mafia lord with the hottest girls. His girls successfully raid his rivals and return with a huge sum of money.
Until the end of the video, you expect Wizkid to show up to support his mafia friend or be the villain but he is, as he has done in recent times, is conspicuously absent.
One would expect him to redeem himself in any way possible since his performance at J.Cole’s concert and the Coachella Concert. One would expect that he shows up in his video to redeem himself but he is Wizkid.
It should be recalled that Drake released the same backlash from fans when he was missing in One Dance video.
It is not clear yet if this is a trend that he is starting or has taken to but one thing is sure, there are some fans who would watch it because of Wizkid or the both of them.
Perhaps, Wizkid has added and settled for this as one of his many recent shows of absenteeism.
