“Something old,
something new,
something borrowed,
something blue.”

Keeping to a British custom that represents continuity, optimism for the future, happiness, purity, love and fidelity, Meghan Markle had it all covered at her wedding to Prince Harry on Saturday.

For the wedding ceremony at Windsor Castle’s St. George’s Chapel where the beautiful couple said their vows, Markle wore a boat-necked, sculpted white dress with three-quarter length sleeves designed by Clare Waight Keller for French fashion house Givenchy.

The open bateau neckline framed Markle’s shoulders and emphasised the slender sculpted waist of the dress. Her five-metre long veil was made of silk tulle with a trim of hand-embroidered flowers in silk threads and organza. It depicted the distinctive flora of each country in the Commonwealth, the 53-nation grouping for which Harry is an ambassador.

Queen Mary’s diamond bandeau tiara, a spectacular piece of art which was made in 1932, held Markle’s veil in place. Comprising of 11 sections with a detachable centre of ten diamonds that can be worn as a brooch, the tiara was loaned to her by Queen Elizabeth II. She also wore earrings and a bracelet by Cartier.

Hours after the historic wedding ceremony, Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, stepped out for her private evening party in a stunning lily white high-neck dress made of silk crepe designed by Stella McCartney. The dress epitomised a timeless minimal elegance.

Markle had on silky satin shoes by Aquazzura with baby blue soles. She accessorised with Reflection de Cartier white gold and diamond earrings and had a blue cocktail ring on her right hand.

Markle joined her new husband in a silver-blue Jaguar E-Type Concept Zero convertible, giving off a mind-blowing, glamorous vibe and style often seen in James Bond films.
