Lagosians React After CPC Shuts Down Kripsy Kreme Doughnuts
On Wednesday, 8 of August, the DG of Consumer Protection Council (CPC), Babatunde Irukera and NAFDAC (National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control), clamped down on one of Lagosians’ sweet tooth favourite store, Krispy Kreme, Victoria Island after it discovered upon inspection that the company extended the expiry date of its doughnut mix and fillings.
This discovery is coming after the company celebrated its 81st anniversary worldwide.
Lagosians since the news have expressed mixed opinions over their incident:
Re: Krispy Kreme,
I’m even more annoyed that the manufacturer granted an extension on expired products.
Because this is Nigeria. They know the operators here won’t complain.
Would they have tried that in any country in Europe or America?

Your language and inflammatory remarks diminish you. You seem unable to be objective about this issue. What this comes down to is that Krispy Kreme violated the law and consumers including you are exposed, even if you’re part owner, remorse should be your response to this.

For those who were asking questions:
Just for the ones that don’t know on this Krispy Kreme issue @TundeIrukera has almost 30 years experience as a Lawyer, over 10 of those years as a Prosecutor in the USA.
If he says there is cause, there is cause.
Stay there and be tweeting your pseudo intelligence.

Others were of a different opinion
If you think regulators invaded Krispy Kreme because they want to protect you, 😂😂😂😂😂
I would ask for the brand of akpeteshi you’re drinking but I don’t want it because I don’t want to be as delusional as you are. Keep whatever you’re drinking.

It’s sad to hear that Krispy Kreme, Victoria Island, Lagos has been shutdown. I hope they bounce back stronger.

I can bet my dime that Krispy Kreme refused to settle guys that’s why they are getting dragged. No analysis was done to confirm the quality or condition of those raw materials, yet photo splash, what a tool.

You guys don’t have work. Of all the people ‘exploiting’ Nigerians, it is Krispy Kreme you went to shakedown. Carry on. We’ve all watched this movie before https://t.co/9vUd8qaIm1

But if a regulator went after Krispy Kreme we know why, and it’s not because they want to protect you.
If they really were interested in protecting you, you probably wouldn’t be eating gala today or drinking most of the nonsense they sell in traffic that you buy and whoof down.
