It’s important to eat every 3 hours to keep your metabolism up. This high-fibre, family-friendly recipe ‘Apple and Peanut Butter’ is a yummy addition to snack time for a busy day at work or a breakfast idea, if you so choose. So put down those potato chips, and try something new and healthy ‘cos those aren’t going to help you one bit. If you’re in a rush or you’ve got a work load of targets to meet up for the day, you can still enjoy a delicious and nutritious snack altogether with this snack idea. This healthy snacks idea takes only 10 minutes tops and you are good to go.

Ingredients:

2 small apples, cored and cut crosswise into 1/2-inch thick rounds

1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional)

3 tablespoons peanut or almond butter

2 tablespoons semisweet chocolate chips

3 tablespoons granola

Method:

If you won’t be eating these tasty treats right away, start by brushing the apples slices with lemon juice to keep them from turning brown.

Spread one side of half of the apple slices with peanut or almond butter then sprinkle with chocolate chips and granola. Top with remaining apple slices, pressing down gently to make the sandwiches and snack is ready!
