While on my hunt for pasta, I decided to check out a random spot I had come across during my runs in Lekki Phase 1 called The B-Hive, located at 31 Victoria Arobieke street. Now, there’s only one major rule when it comes to good pasta, if you’re not absolutely sure about the restaurant, then don’t do pasta. There’s a big chance that it’s not going to be great.

The ambience was quite homey and the staff was attentive. I wasn’t very interested in the décor because the space was quite bare, but I liked the cozy atmosphere as I could almost take my shoes off and relax.

Seafood pasta
Being a regular pasta eater, I should have known this wasn’t the best choice. The soggy pasta was full of chunky pieces of fish and prawns. I opted for creamy pasta which was not a good idea, as tomato-based pasta is always a safer option. Luckily for me, they were willing to take it back and replace the meal.

Grilled prawn (with sweet potato)
This meal was perfect! Obviously, their specialty, the prawns were so huge and properly spiced. It was served with a pepper sauce on the side, which added so much more value to the meal. The potatoes were boiled and spiced lightly, I would have preferred it grilled but it tasted good all the same. Most people would be unhappy with the process of having to take off the prawn shell, but it added to the experience as I cherished every bite afterward.

Tequila Sour cocktail
I love to experiment with cocktails. Whiskey, tequila and brandy-based cocktails can’t really go wrong; but vodka can! The tequila was a good choice. I loved the sweet-sour combination plus it was one of those drinks that you easily forget is actually alcoholic.
