The globally-recognised movie Potato Potahto starts showing in cinemas today, November 24, in Nigeria and South Africa and Thursday, November 30 in Ghana.

The romantic comedy Potato Potahto tells the story of a divorced couple who have planned to continue living under the same roof. Their plans result in total disaster when the husband, Tony, brings in an attractive female house help. When his ex-wife Lulu then hires an attractive young man to help her out, double trouble ensues and takes them on a roller coaster ride of laughter, jealousy and tears.

Directed by Shirley Frimpong-Manso, the movie packs a stellar pan-African cast including OC Ukeje, Joselyn Dumas, Joke Silva, Blossom Chukwujekwu, Chris Attoh, Lala Akindoju, Adjetey Anang, Victoria Michaels and Nikki Samonas.

The world premiere for Potato Potahto was at the Cannes Film Festival, where Frimpong-Manso said it was well received. It also featured at the Durban International Film Festival, where the reception it received surprised even the director.
