Fans have been asking for a Black Widow movie since the character-played by Scarlet Johansson– made her debut appearance in Iron Man 2 in 2010 and after eight years it would seem like there is an update on this.

Sources say that Marvel has hired Jac Schaeffer to pen the screenplay for the movie. Schaeffer worked on The Black List and is also responsible for Nasty Women and the upcoming remake of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
If this movie is made, Black Widow will be the second female-fronted Marvel movie after Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel which is set to be released March 9, 2019.
