If you were active on Twitter over the weekend, you may have noticed many black people from around the world showcasing their artistic talents using the hashtag #DrawingWhileBlack.

These young people are making us so proud with their work. There are so many amazing ones, but we can only bring a few of them from that trend. Feel free to go on Twitter and check the hashtag for more of them.

Of course, we have to start with the organiser of the trend. Annabelle Hayford a 19-year-old Ghanaian agender artist studying animation and illustration at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). She tweeted “Starting a hashtag event to celebrate and appreciate Black artists this weekend” last Wednesday, rallying other people to showcase their work using the hashtag. An account (@DrawingWHileBlk) was created and other people jumped on the trend and wowed the internet.
