For thousands of years, Aromatherapy has been used to relieve one from stress, joints, insomnia, skin problems, dementia and depression.

Aromatherapy is an embodiment of essential oils that are made of medicinal herbs and flowers that relaxes the nerves.

When applied to the skin, it helps protect the skin from bacteria and inflammation.

There are several ways of using aromatherapy: Inhaling, massage, bath soak and on the skin.

Some of the medicinal herbs used for this therapy include:

  • Leaves from eucalyptus plants
  • Fennel seeds
  • Zest from fruits
  • Rosemary
  • Flowers such as Rose
  • Roots from ginger
  • Peppermint
  • Lemongrass

Essential oils are often diluted with carrier oils such as jojoba, almond and coconut oil. This is because using too much of it can have a negative effect.
Also, some people are allergic to certain oils hence the need to seek help from an aromatherapist before DIY.
