‘Inter Lagos to redefine football’

The Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria National League side, Inter Lagos, Lanre Vigo, has said that one of the cardinal points of the club is to change the lives of young Nigerians.

Speaking at the unveiling of Inter Lagos, yesterday, in Lagos, Vigo stated that the club is out to re-shape the mindset of Nigerian youths to fall in love with the local clubs, instead of choosing foreign clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool.

“We want a football Club, where people will come, watch good football and go home satisfied. We want a club that is fan friendly. And to do so, you have to get quality players and good technical crew.”

Established in 2023, Inter Lagos plays its NNL home games at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, and have enjoyed success in attracting a vibrant fanbase, which is also propelling their ambition of gaining promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Perhaps, one of the club’s achievements so far was when they caused the biggest upset of the season by defeating Warri Wolves FC 4-0 two weeks ago.
The club is unbeaten in its five games so far in the NNL league.

Vigo, a co-founder of Inter Lagos, who is currently a sports agent managing the likes of Israel Adesanya, Tobi Amusan and Asisat Oshoala, said he is excited with the club’s current position in the league.

Also speaking on the club, its co-founder, Tosin Fashoyin, commended the technical crew, players and all those that have contributed to the success story so far.

“It has been a successful story so far, and we thank all those who have contributed to this great work,” she stated. In his speech, Team captain, Kazeem Jubrin, promised that the players will not let the management down in their pursuit of promotion to the NPFL.
