Women4Africa announces finalists for 2017 awards

The organising committee of Women4africa announced the finalists for its 16 categories along with its Recognition Recipients and the first ever Women4Africa Lifetime Achievement Award Recipient. This year’s awards saw over 25 African countries represented in the nominations and over 300 nominations.

The 6th Annual Awards to be held on Saturday the 20th May 2017 at the Great Hall, Kensington London, United Kingdom. Women4Africa is a Global Icon for culture and diversity celebrating the Best of Africa and its Women.

“With finalists from across the African continent, Women4Africa is proud to showcase a diverse list of finalists for 2017,” organisers said in a statement.

In past events, Women4Africa has attracted guests, winners and speakers. This list includes Sir Paul Judge of Abraaj Capital, Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin, a Civil rights activist. Alongside Captain Irene Mutungi, of Kenya Airways, Dr Araba Lanlelee Sam, Robotic surgeon, Fiona Bartels-Ellis OBE Director of the British Council, and Grace Ononiwu OBE, Chief Crown Prosecutor, West Midlands to name but a few.

In its 6th year, Women4Africa boasts of one of the largest celebration of African women in Europe. The founders, Sam and Tola Onigbanjo, said the vision of Women4Africa is that “It primarily exists as a diversity platform to showcase the meaningful contribution of African women to all parts of the society”.
