Nigeria’s premier radio station for women, Wfm 91.7 is set to roll out the first edition of its Women Sectoral Engagement series with the first one themed, “Gender Diversity and Women Productivity,” which will focus on the toughest challenges and greatest opportunities facing Nigerian women in the workplace.

The engagement series is an initiative of the radio station and arose from the need to discuss and proffer solutions to the challenges and limitations women face, especially in the corporate world. This millennium has brought along with it positive changes and the contributions and commitment of women can no longer be overlooked, and must be embraced and celebrated.

Women Radio 91.7 leads and participates in initiatives that promotes and advance the cause of productivity and development of women. The workshop will create a platform for professional and career women to focus on the toughest challenges and greatest opportunities facing Nigerian women in the workplace. This will further develop our cross–sectional cooperation and collaboration as well as expand frontiers for women.

The three-part programme will deliver on capacity building, creative management practice forum, networking for professional and career advancement, as well as facilitate partnership while expanding frontiers for women’s economic advocacy

The first workshop series will hold on June 5, 2018 for Women in Aviation, Maritime and the Oil and Gas Sector. The second will hold next month and is for Women in Banking, Insurance, Information Technology/Telecom and Manufacturing while the last will hold in November this year for women in health, hospitality, judiciary and public service.

The speakers for the June edition, which takes place at Protea Hotel, GRA are Hadiza Bala Usman, the Managing Director, Nigeria Port Authority (NPA), Amina Oyagbola Founder/CEO, Women in Successful Careers (WISCAR) and Ibiyemi Odusi, Country Manager, Rwandair and is sponsored by Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC).
