Tricia has over 10 years of cumulative experience working across a wide portfolio of clients in Nigeria, offering services ranging from digital marketing, public relations, experiential marketing, brand building and core marketing. Multinationals such as Etisalat Nigeria, Unilever, Glaxosmithkline, Nigerian Breweries, Nokia, Multichoice, British American Tobacco, Mastercard, Emirates, The Bridge Clinic, Japan Tobacco International, D,light, Wrigleys and Coca-Cola are some clients she has worked with in this regard.
To boost the competitiveness of small businesses, Tricia launched TriciaBiz in April 2017 where she hopes to translate her recorded success working with multi-nationals to MSMEs (Micro small and medium enterprises). Her focus is on working with high performing individuals interested in starting a business or growing existing businesses into profitable and sustainable brands. She does this through a range of business services she offers: One- on-one coaching, online courses, trainings and keynote speaking.

Tricia is an IVLP world fellow (US Government program), one of the 100 most inspiring women in Nigeria and also a profound speaker and trainer, which has seen her as panel member at several summits and conferences as well as training staff of companies to improve their manpower output.

What ignited the spark in you to start your business venture?
I’ve spent the last 11 years of my life growing multinationals and that has brought about the well-grounded knowledge and experience I have in business. I stumbled on a SMEDAN report that said there are over 30million MSMEs (Micro Small and Medium Enterprises) registered in Nigeria, which made me curious about the MSMEs business space and I saw an opportunity in that niche to impart businesses with the knowledge I have and also build sustainable brands.
What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?
An entrepreneur must have the skills to relate with and manage people, because most of your interactions as an entrepreneur is centered around people, those that work for you and those that you serve (clients). So you have to know how to manage people at all levels. Financial literacy and Innovativeness are also relevant skills.
How did you respond to failure as an entrepreneur?
The first thing I do is analyse what went wrong, then I ensure I get it fixed, this is to ensure that the issue is addressed from the source and it doesn’t happen again.
How long do you stick with an idea before giving up?
In working on an idea, there’s no fixed duration on how long I can stick to it because different ideas have different means of expression and different duration for its expression. So it’s relative.
