Pernod Ricard empowers 30 women in skills acquisition, donate food to community
Committed to combatting inappropriate and harmful drinking, Global Pernod Ricard through its corporate social responsibility initiative, Responsib’All Day, enjoins everyone within the Pernod Ricard affiliate worldwide gives back to the markets they operate within.
The day of action is organised simultaneously in over 80 countries and involving the Group’s 19.000 employees, who devote their day to sharing knowledge and experience on responsible consumption making them the leading ambassadors of the group’s commitment.
The group stops all its activities worldwide to engage in vast number of local initiatives and events that allows its employees to talk directly to the consumers, and distributors, about Pernod Ricard’s five commitments, which includes: reduce underage drinking, reduce drinking and driving, strengthen and expand marketing codes of practice, provide consumer information and develop responsible product innovations, and enlist the support of retailers to reduce harmful drinking.
As part of activities marking the day in Nigeria, the team in the country on June 1, partnered with Foodbank Nigeria to donate food to the community of Idi-Araba (popularly known as Golugo) in Oworonshoki, Lagos.
The teams also dedicated their time to provide skill acquisition training to over 30 women who learnt how to make ankara accessories with basic tools paint and painted the FoodBank Nigeria office on Ikorodu Rd, Obanikoro.
