This week’s interview is exceptional as it features a man working in the world of women.

Gilead Akahara is a serial entrepreneur, skincare specialist and co-founder of G’sTouch Organic Skincare, a Nigerian skincare brand dedicated towards helping people achieve a healthy and flawless skin.

Gilead is a mechanical engineering graduate of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri.

His love for nature and the desire to help people achieve a healthy and flawless skin also moved him to acquire more professional courses on skincare.

Gilead is also the CEO of Gee Xpress Logistics.

What problem does your company solve?

G’stouch Organic Skincare is a trusted Nigerian natural skincare brand that deals in the production and sale of effective natural skincare products.

At G’s Touch Organic Skincare, our objective is to deliver happiness and extraordinary service by providing the healthiest and most effective skincare products.

We create and provide healthy, effective skincare and wellness products designed to improve the skin and enhance holistic health, as well as improve the overall lifestyle of our clients.

We proffer solutions to skincare issues with the aid of our excellent range of body and facial natural products.

Since the inception of our business in 2014, we have been able to help our amazing clients regain their confidence by helping them achieve a healthy and radiant skin.

This is evident in our numerous wonderful reviews and referrals.

What ignited the spark in you to start your business venture?

My passion for skincare and the desire to help people look good and feel confident about themselves ignited my spark, and my sister/co-founder who had serious skin issues motivated me as well.

We were always looking out for DIYs on natural ingredients to use for the skin.

We got so excited seeing how different kitchen ingredients work wonders on the skin, as a result we decided to go for more professional skincare courses and that was how I gradually turned this passion into a side career and G’sTouch Organic Skincare was born.

So now that we have gone all professional we can solidly tell you that the company was founded based on love for nature.

This inspiration serves as an anchor for creating exceptional products using natural ingredient to enhance our well-being naturally.

As the popular saying goes, “Creative Thinking Inspires Ideas, Ideas Inspire Change” This has been our mission to change bad skin conditions by using what Mother Nature has provided for us the natural way.

What would you say are the top three skills needed to be a successful entrepreneur?

I won’t really say they are the three top skills. But for me, Passion for what you do; Motivation from good friends/family and Good Customer Service and Communication will help you become a successful entrepreneur

How did you respond to failure as an entrepreneur?

Actually I share the sentiments of Winston Churchill who said and I quote, “ Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.”

So we don’t allow failures define us, we see the setbacks as road bumps on our way to success.

So we learn from them, overcome them and move to achieve more.

This calls to mind an experience I had when I went for my first ever exhibition show in Lagos, I really thought I had put a lot of effort into preparing for that particular exhibition, but on getting there it occurred to me that I was the least prepared, I felt like a failure.

I had to move around, I studied other people, learnt from my mistakes and promised myself I’d work on them which I did in the next exhibition I went for in Port Harcourt and God-willing it paid off amazingly well.

How long do you stick with an idea before giving up?

Becoming an entrepreneur takes fortitude. There will be obstacles to overcome and nay- sayers to ignore.

How long one should stick to an idea is difficult to predict, as it would depend on what has to be accomplished.

I believe the timing should be determined by the overall impact on the business and the ability to execute your decisions.

What motivates you?

The fact that we have helped hundreds of people regain their skin confidence (still helping) and the referrals from them. And of course we can’t ignore the funds being generated from the business. (Laughs)

What does success mean to you?

A lot of persons equate money and power with success, and I used to see it that way, too, but maturity and life experiences have corrected that view for me.

Personally, success is spending the majority of my time focused on works that are fulfilling while helping other people in a meaningful way as much as I can.
