Foundation empowers community, urges privileged Nigerians to support charity works

Founder of Chineme Foundation, Dr. Vitalis Okechukwu, has urged privileged Nigerians to embrace charitable works that benefits indigent people in society.

Okechukwu said this during the commissioning of borehole water project donated to Amankwo community Amankwo in Ezeagu L.G.A of Enugu State.

The foundation also donated learning materials to students, scholarship to students and organised a football tournament between neighbouring communities in the local government.

He disclosed that he grew up in the local government was touched togive back to the community.

Okechukwu called on other community members to support their people in whatever capacity they can.

“I love to see smiles on peoples faces, as I have always said, I derive joy from serving which is what my profession has allowed me to do throughout my entire life, giving back to the society.


“This annual event is always targeted towards a set of individuals and groups to support them either by awarding them with scholarship opportunities or providing them food and supplies.

“The annual football tournament competition which always attracts neighbouring communities and villages where the winning team takes home not only the cup but also cash prizes.”

He said the foundation will lead the way to increase scholarship for students after starting with three university students.

“Education is one of the best gifts you can offer to any child, especially in this type of society where one needs help to succeed,” Okechukwu said.

Representatives of the people of Amankwo in Ezeagu L.G.A of Enugu State expressed their joy and gratitude to Okechukwu and the Chineme Foundation for giving back to the community.
