FinTribe illuminates path to financial literacy for OAU Female students

To empower the next generation with essential financial knowledge and foster financial independence among female university students, FinTribe, founded by Jennifer Awirigwe, also known as Financial Jennifer, conducted an impactful financial literacy outreach at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State.

This event, which is a collaborative effort with the OAU Great Ife Student Union Government, its mission was clear: to ‘catch them young’ and instill a robust understanding of financial literacy among the students.

Financial Jennifer delivered engaging sessions on building earning capacity as students, innovative business ideas tailored for the academic environment, and the profound impact of early investing and compounding. She also guided students on how to participate in leading banks’ public share offerings. The interactive sessions allowed students to ask finance and business-related questions, benefiting from the expertise of Financial Jennifer, a renowned finance professional.

FinTribe’s commitment to incentivising financial education was evident through the prizes awarded during the event. Five students received 5,000 units of banking stock, and 10 students were given cash prizes to kickstart their investment journeys. Additionally, free copies of the book “The Smart Money Woman” were distributed, further enriching the students’ financial literacy resources.

As FinTribe continues to champion financial literacy, with plans to extend this outreach to more universities, FinTribe is dedicated to spreading financial education and empowering young women across Nigeria.
