The University of Ibadan Muslim Graduates Association, (UIMGA) Lagos Branch has approved the appointment of the pioneer executive committee members to steer the affairs of the association for the next two years.

The Shuurah Committee, headed by Saka Matemilola, in its reports named the 13-man executive after thorough scrutinisation and consultations.

The new Executive Committee of Lagos State Branch of UIMGA who are expected to serve between 1439 and 1441 are headed by: Maruf Adebakin (Chairman); Nurayn Arowona (Vice Chairman 1); Khadijah Adedeji (Vice Chairman 2); Shakirat AbdulMajeed (Secretary); Saheed Bolaji (Assistant Secretary); AbdulKabir Garba (Publicity Secretary); Taye Badru (Assistant Publicity Officer); Luqman Olajide Abdurrasaq (Treasurer).

Others are: Rahmat Adetutu Adisa (Financial Secretary); Akeem Alaka (Internal Auditor); Bashir Dada (Missioner); Aisha Oyetunji Muhammad (Legal Adviser); Sulayman Omisanya (Ex-Officio Member 1); Rasheedat Lawal (Ex –Officio Member 2)

Matemilola said the report was presented in line with Article eight, section 2(j) of the UIMGA Lagos State Branch constitution which states that ” The report of the “Shuura” presented to the General Meeting shall be the list of the State Executive Committee members who shall serve the Association in various capacities for two years at first instance”.

He said the committee consulted widely and held several meetings to ensure that the entire selection process conforms to the constitutional provisions of our association.

“We among other factors considered interest, experience, discipline, and commitment to our common goals and overall interests of Islam as relevant criteria for the nomination and selection of members to various offices.
