2 Kings 7:1-2 ìThen Elisha said, hear ye the Word of the Lord; thus says the Lord tomorrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria. Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the Man of God and said, behold, if the Lord would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said behold, thou shalt see it with
thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.

ONE of the most destructive forces that have plagued humanity is the spirit of negativity and unbelief. This terrible spirit has ruined many lives and kept them from fulfilling their destinies. Great things are never accomplished in the atmosphere of negativity. To get anything done, there must be freewill and goodwill to believe that it can be done. One of the attributes of those who have affected civilization in any sphere of life is the positive spirit – the spirit that believes that it is possible.

One painful illustration of what negative spirit can do to anyone is the story of the Israelites in the Old Testament. They did not get into the Promised Land despite God ís investments in their lives. Out of the whole lot, only two of them made it to the Promised Land; Joshua and Caleb. God declared that these two had a different positive spirit. Numbers 14:24: ìBut my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went and his seed shall possess it.î With the heavy anointing of God on Jesus, He could not perform mighty miracles in His hometown because of the negative attitude of the people. Matthew 13:58: ìAnd he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.î Without faith, it is impossible to please God, Hebrews 11:6

Negative attitude cannot appropriate the promises of God. Most times when we hear Godís word, we feel that it is too good to be true. Prophet Elisha, a man with the double portion anointing of Prophet Elijah had declared that within the next 24 hours, there would be Godís intervention in Israel, as the people of God will move from lack to overwhelming abundance. A government official opposed him, directly insulting God that, ëeven if Godí will open the windows of Heaven, it is not possible for sudden drop in inflation and for surplus availability of commodities to happen. Of course, Godís word will never fail and the official who was negative was trampled under feet when the surplus came within 24 hours.

What is your attitude towards Godís promises today? Negative spirit and unbelief, are circuit breakers. You must fight unbelief. The Bible has only Heroes of Faith, not heroes of the negative. Trust God and let Heaven record your faith in God. Within the next 24 hours, God is able to do the unexpected. Believe and you will see the Glory of God. God still works miracles today. Psalm 136:4: ìTo him who alone doeth great wonders for His mercy endureth forever.î
PRAYER: Father God, I choose to trust in You, never to be negative. I trust in You with all my heart and I do not lean on my own understanding. In all my ways I acknowledge You and I know You will direct my affairs.
