Having contributed to the nutritional chain in the food industry, the Nigerian Heart Foundation (NHF) has endorsed Three Crowns milk, while it announced partnership with Frieslandcampina Wamco Plc to promote healthy eating habits and active lifestyle. The endorsement and partnership came during the brand’s 30th anniversary celebration.

While unveiling the partnership in Lagos, Managing Director, FrieslandCampina WAMCO, Ben Langat, said, “Three Crowns milk considers it a great privilege to partner with the Nigerian Heart Foundation in promoting healthy options for consumers. We understand the important role food plays in reducing the risk of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), including cardiovascular diseases. It is because of the close link between diet and health that our company and the Nigerian Heart Foundation, have come together today to endorse Three Crowns as the heart-friendly milk brand.

“As Three Crowns marks her 30th anniversary of delivering complete nourishment to Nigerians, the brand, in partnership with Nigerian Heart Foundation, will promote, encourage and empower Nigerians to live healthy lives. This is significant because Three Crowns milk is the first dairy brand to be endorsed with Nigerian Heart Foundation ‘Heart Check’ logo.”

Langat note that as part of measures put in place to ensure healthy living among Nigerians, the brand has an ongoing digital campaign tagged ‘Work out with whatever,’ which supports consumers to develop a daily exercise routine, adding that a direct coaching platform has been created, “where consumers are given tailor-made exercise routine based on their work-out challenges.“The brand also communicates healthy eating habits and encourages an active lifestyle”.

Three Crowns Fitness Challenge, a first of its kind in the industry, has been in existence for over a year, supporting consumers to develop a daily exercise routine.”
He noted that both partner organisations share a common interest in tackling the problem of NCDs, which is inline with the World Health Organisation’s strategies as it recognise that the solution requires a societal approach, multi-sectorial actions and the collaboration of government institutions and the private sector.

“Therefore, addressing the awareness of NCDs, supporting consumers in making informed dietary choices and collaborating with governments to shape evolving policies on tackling NCDs is key to FrieslandCampina WAMCO,” the managing director stressed.

President, Nigerian Heart Foundation, Mrs. Francesca Emanuel, said the foundation is pleased with signing up the Three Crowns Milk products in joining the stable of Heart health Food Products in Nigeria.“The Nigerian Heart Foundation (NHF) Heart Check Food Labeling Programme supports national initiatives for healthier food choices, through endorsement of positive Heart Check logo on healthier food products certified to be heart-friendly,” she said.
