IN order to celebrate creativity and excellence in the marketing communication field, the fifth edition of the annual MarketingWorld Awards in Nigeria has been slated for November 7 at Oriental Hotel, Lagos.
The CEO of InstinctWave and Group Publisher of MarketingWorld magazine Mr. Akin Napthal, at a media briefing last week, said the event would provide opportunity to celebrate champions in the marketing communication industry.
He said, “The award in its usual manner will reward outstanding performances across the integrated marketing communication industry.” He added that the award categories were arrived at after careful research based on market intelligence, noting that though the categories were not exhaustive of the industry, they cut across major segments of the industry.
According to him, firms and agencies have been nominated for one award or the other in different categories like Experiential Agency of the year, Marketing Campaign of the year, Financial Brand of the year, Outdoor Agency of the year, Best Company in Customer Care and a host of others. Napthal also said that besides the regular awards in the last editions, new categories would be enlisted.
They are Africa Airline Brand of the year, Best Country in Destination Branding, Africa Marketing Professional of the year, African Brand Personality of the year, Africa Brand of the year and Best Brand in Ghana. He said the new entries were products of feedbacks from critical stakeholders.
He also said that moving forward, there were plans to make the award pan-African from next year. “This year marketing space experienced a lull because of electioneering process in the country.
Companies and agencies were sceptical in implementing plans, but at the end of the day great works abound in the sphere,” he said. To ensure that guests at the event had a memorable and fun-filled time, he said there would be comedy interlude, raffle draw and live musical performances.
