InstinctWave, publisher of MarketingWorld magazine, is set to unveil the top 25 marketing professionals in West Africa. This will happen at this year’s edition of the magazine’s award night slated for November 3 at Kempinski Ambassador Hotel, Accra, Ghana.

As new technologies keep emerging and the world shrinking into one global village, Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr. Akin Naphtal, in a recent chat with journalists in Lagos, said the need to strengthen existing bonds in the marketing communications world had become imperative, hence the decision to hold the 7th edition of the awards in Accra.

The night will also feature Marketing360 Summit, a gathering aimed at bringing leaders together in the ecosystem to share insights across integrated marketing communication sector on the continent. The platform, Naphtal said, would provide opportunity for marketers to share views that would positively change the direction of integrated marketing communication, as well as project positive growth of the sector in Africa.

According to him, “Topics like Customer centricity, Marketing Strategy, Marketing Leadership, Social Media marketing, Digital Marketing strategies and many others would be discussed. The evening of the half day summit will host the newly expanded pan-Africa MarketingWorld Awards, which recognise outstanding performances across the industry in Africa.”

Naphtal said MarketingWorld Awards and Marketing360 Summit are well thought of and are both needed at this time when Africa needs to celebrate excellence and push for the best trends in the industry.

He stated that the awards would be done in three categories, namely: Agencies, organisation/clients/innovation and special recognitions. Some of the awards under the agencies category include experiential agency of the year; market research agency of the year; creative agency of the year; outdoor agency of the year; media agency of the year among others. On the organisation, client and innovation category, the awards include best use of packaging, company with best CSR programmes, pay TV brand of the year, e-commerce platform of the year, financial brand of the year and so on. The last category of awards include; best brand evolution, marketing team of the year, outstanding women in marketing, most inspiring world rising star, young marketer of the year and marketing professional of the year among others.

It would also be the first time the awards would be held outside Nigeria, and Naphtal noted, “Hardly would you find a multi-national that has its business tentacles in at least two West African countries, and sometimes one marketing personnel in any of these West African countries also handles the company’s subsidiaries within the
neighbourhood. So why not deepen this integration process?”
