‘How Ede Poly is repositioning for innovation and growth’

After years of incessant financial crises coupled with prolonged industrial actions by staff unions, the emergence of Dr. Taiwo Adekolawole as the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Ede (EdePoly), has made these debilitating influences things of the past.

Speaking at a press briefing to mark his first 100 days in office, Dr. Adekolawole said the various transformational programmes currently ongoing are to reposition the institution and make it a reference point for the measurement of standard of performance in polytechnic administration in the country.

According to him, Ede Poly is “now financially stable as all leakages, responsible for the inability to pay allowances and the source of rift between management and unions, are now blocked.

He said, “On assumption of office, I embarked on a thorough overhauling of the institution by restoring and sustaining industrial harmony between unions and management by paying staff-owed allowances and salaries with a commitment to settle all outstanding backlogs following an agreement signed by the Council, management and unions, thereby ending long years of dispute over staff emoluments.”

Stressing that selfless and inclusive leadership with integrity are needed for institutional development, Adekolawole promised to continue to invest his wealth of academic, administrative and professional experiences in manners that “will benefit staff, students, the host community, and other stakeholders.”

He said under his administration, “preparation for accreditation has reached a peak and the polytechnic has placed orders for the supplies of laboratory equipment, requisite instruments, and teaching aids needed for research, teaching and learning.
