God Has Begun To Change Nigeria For Good

After the rain comes sunshine. The Easter celebration came with so much joy for our country. And now is the time for us to come and reason together. The time has come for every Nigerian to girdle his or her loin to join hands in salvaging our great country. There is no more time to waste. God in His infinite mercy has already shown us the way to follow. Beyond every postulation and calculation of doomsday prophets and enemies of Nigeria, God took perfect control of the last election and saved us from what would have turned a very bloody exercise.

The Almighty proved to all that indeed He has the hearts of all men, the rich and the poor in His hands, and that He is also in charge of all human affairs. Yes. Granted that at times we do wonder if indeed God cares about our welfare! When the tide of life drives us helter-skelter, we may find ourselves doubting the presence of His Mighty Hands. But He has always assured us that no matter the challenges that come our way; He would always be there for us. He has proven it once again. God is a Nigerian.

Now that the wind of change is blowing all over, the question is: What can you and I do to sustain the momentum? We prayed for a peaceful election and God granted our wishes. We prayed that the country remains one and He hearkened to our call. What next? What we should do next is to re-consecrate our country into the able hands of God Almighty through change of our attitudes and re-examinations of our values. Like the founding fathers of America did, we need to realise that unless we place God at the corner stone of our development, we can achieve nothing. The reality on ground is that we need to rebuild this sleeping giant and make it truly great, not only in size, but also in wisdom and achievement.

The idea of dividing this nation along ethnic and religious lines would not work again, and so I implore those who like to beat this drum of divisiveness to put away their drums and embrace positive change. Those who have been benefitting from the misfortunes of the lot should have a change of heart and desist henceforth before the wrath of God falls on them. God is doing a new thing in our country.

Are we ready to allow Him complete the good work He has started? He is willing to discard the old cloth of misery and disdain we have been wearing for long and replace same with royalty.

But this can only come to pass if we cooperate with Him. How? By doing away with evil and embracing all that is good, just and wholesome.Over and over again, we have seen that greed and selfishness never lead one to the promise land; so also corruption and violence. All those are deceptions of the devil to make us think that the more we get at the detriment of others the happier we would be. Check out the most developing nations on earth; they are where they are because their leaders placed the interest of the masses far above their own.
