Global recognition for OrderPaper as ConsTrack wins innovation contest

OrderPaper Nigeria has emerged winner of a worldwide innovation contest on technology for development organised by Chemonics, a United States Agency for International Development (USAID) implementing partner. The winning entry is a programme on constituency projects (ConsTrack), conceived by OrderPaper Nigeria, to help sanitise the controversial intervention by legislators with the aim of entrenching inclusiveness, transparency and accountability through the deployment of a multi-layer mobile application.

ConsTrack, which is being supported by USAID’s Strengthening Advocacy and Civic Engagement (SACE) programme, emerged winner in the ‘new ideas’ category of the inaugural Tech4Dev contest, which included 38 entries from across the world.

Winners in another category of the competition from Syria and Kosovo joined OrderPaper Nigeria at an award presentation ceremony in Washington DC, U.S., recently.

Making the presentation to OrderPaper Nigeria, President/CEO of Chemonics, Susanna Mudge, lauded ConsTrack initiative and expressed satisfaction with the SACE team led by Mr. Charles Abani, Chief of Party in Nigeria.

Abani, in his remark, stated that the mobile app, when implemented, will aid in driving transparency and accountability in the muddy waters of constituency projects in Nigeria.

According to him: “OrderPaper’s work on ConsTrack will ensure that citizens’ voices are amplified as they engage their legislative representatives in budget tracking and constituency monitoring.
