Nasrul-L-Lahi-L- Fatih Society (NASFAT) has successfully held its 2017 edition of its annual Train-the-Trainers’ Exercise meant to teach and expose members of the society to Islamic teachings with a view to deepening their religious knowledge.

The four-day residential training, recorded impressive participation by members from all walks of life across the 16 zones of NASFAT including its United Kingdom and United States.

The training featured five different courses on Train-the-Trainers’ Dialogue (TTD), where the participants had the opportunity of being exposed to teachings about their religion, Islam and comparative religious lectures.

The modules were handled by highly-qualified resource persons drawn from the Islamic Education Trust (IET), Dawah Institute of Nigeria (DIN), Minna and NASFAT trainers.

Addressing participants at the closing ceremony of the training, the Chief Missioner of NASFAT, Imam Mahruf Abdulazeez Onike, said the programme has been conceived to create an out-of-home and friendly environment to infuse the Society’s members with Islamic religion knowledge.

The Chief Missioner said NASFAT members and entire Muslim community will be in tandem with the teachings of Islam and will be prepared to propagate the religion based on sound knowledge of its teachings and tenets.

Onike assured members, who attended the training course from outside Lagos that the training would soon be replicated in the North and South/South zones to ensure the event is brought closer to them and consequently reduce the transportation hassles associated with having to travel down to Lagos annually.

The National Women Affairs Secretary,  Alhaja Samiat Mumuni and the National Education Secretary, Dr. (Mrs.) Rahmat Adisa, thanked the participants for making it to the training despite its  closeness to the Society’s Biennial General Conference, which took place in Ghana between December 21and 24, 2017.

They both promised the participants improved training package, especially in the areas of course materials availability before the training and other desiderata.
