Rhapsody, Ikeja City Mall, Lagos, was the place to be last Saturday, as Guinness Made Of Black Ambassadors – Olamide, Phyno and Eva – entertained a cross section of real people that embody the spirit of being truly made of black. The event is in line with the brand’s continued commitment to celebrate young Nigerians for who they are, represent what they want and give them a voice, as Guinness moves to the next step of the Made Of Black campaign.

Speaking at the event organised to celebrate the ambassadors, the Portfolio Marketing Manager, Guinness, Ms. Liz Ashdown said Made Of Black is more than an advertising campaign.

“It is a movement. It’s about the people making bold choices, those who ask ‘why not… those doing things their way and carving out a path for themselves.”

Explaining the next steps of the campaign, Liz said, “this year, we turn the camera around and focus on the real made of black heroes in all walks of life across Nigeria starting today with our very own brand ambassadors. We showed Nigeria made of black and now we will make you part of it by taking the campaign to the street and to the bars.”

The event, which was graced by top entertainers such as Ehiz, Doris Simeon and ace comedian, Seyi Law, was fun filled, as guests were thrilled with great vibes from Nigeria’s finest music including popular hits of the Made of Black brand ambassadors. DJ Exclusive, one of the top Disc Jockeys in the country, was also on the wheels of steel.

Meanwhile, DNMT (Dance Na the Main Thing), Nigeria’s top dance group, treated the audience to a scintillating, bold and artistic free style dance routines there were creative displays on the skateboards.

Guinness believes that Olamide, Phyno and Eva have made a positive impact to the #madeofblack movement and wants to make them an even more pivotal part of the next phase; hence we are excited to be celebrating them.

Phyno dared to be different, standing up to pursue what he believed in; his dream and not wavering till he got it. He went where many could not succeed and has made immense impact in the music entertainment industry.

Eva on her part believes that women can achieve anything they set their minds to and she has demonstrated this by treading a path previously believed to be reserved for men. The rapper is driven by her passion to be heard. She dared to challenge the norm, and she is truly made of black.

Olamide is a known game changer; this he has demonstrated, not only in his style of music, but in the utter dexterity with which he delivers his lines and the passion with which he pursues his career. You can see and feel the raw energy when he does what he is passionate about and it is that the campaign celebrates.

This year, Guinness is taking every opportunity to ensure consumers have experiences made of more and opportunities to drink the beer made of more. Black is set to take the centre stage in many major consumer passions including football. Hence, in its clear representation of the campaign, guests were served to the cool, sizzling taste of different Guinness, illustrating the more ways to drink black and show you are made of black.
