Winners of Greenlife’s rising star writing competition emerge

As part of efforts to improve learning among the younger generation, Greenlife Pharmaceutical Limited, is set to reward winners of its third edition of the nationwide Rising Star competition.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO), The Writers’ Corner, Uche Udoji noted that that competition which was organised for primary and secondary school students in the country received 307 entries and a record of 25 pupils stood out in the competition after the judges assessed the spellings, grammar, vocabularies of the write-ups the pupils sent.
  
According to the CEO, the competition covered poetry and story writing among primary and secondary school pupils. “In the primary school category, Nine-year-old Jailyn Nsofor from Corona Schools, Lagos secured the first position in poetry while eight-year-old Demilade Olaere from Livingspring School Lagos took the glory in the short story category.

“In the Secondary School category, Snow George of Star Ville School Abuja took first position in poem, while Ofomata Chinyere of Louisville Girls’ College Ijebu-Itele came top in the short story competition.
 
Similarly, the Head Human Resource Greenlife Pharmaceuticals, Amaka Nwosisi said, come October 24; prizes will be awarded to winners.“We believe the young people are the future of this generation, hence the idea behind the writing competition. We have a poor reading culture and the children are already being affected, especially with games and social media addiction.
