Pupils must be prepared for self-reliance, says Ogun SUBEB boss
The Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Jeleel Okewole has said that Nigerian pupils must not only be prepared for the employment market, but also for self-employment.
Okewole said this at a training organised for about 2,500 head teachers and their assistants by SUBEB and International Centre for Leadership and Entrepreneurial Development (ICLED).
The Founder of ICLED, Olajumoke Adeosun-Familoni, a Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship, observed that there is need to overhaul Nigeria’s curriculum to accommodate 21st century demand. She argued that entrepreneurship is key if Nigeria would close the development gap with other developed countries.
