Nigeria-educationPrincipal Consultant of Jes’sLord Consult, an educational consulting firm, Mrs. Celina Atuegbe-Eidaghese, has urged teachers to learn and exchange ideas that would proffer lasting solutions to challenges bogging down the profession.

Atuegbe-Eidaghese gave the charge during the maiden edition of “Great Teachers Conference,” which had as its theme, “Promoting Teachers Status in the Interest of Quality Education.”

The conference, attended by both public and private school teachers, was designed to help keep teachers abreast of recent happenings in the education sector, and seek further ways of engendering the wellbeing of the Nigerian child.

She said when teachers liaise and exchange new ideas that are beneficial to learning, it would in the long run help to develop the profession, and bring about a better output on their parts.

She further advised the participants to open up to learning and be proud to be identified among the great personalities who belong to the “profession that rules the world.”

She said, “The idea of this programme came about when I had the opportunity to train both government and private schools teachers. It was then I discovered that there were lots of things both parties needed to learn from each other in the interest of this profession.
“We are ably monitored by Alliance International, United States (US), for accreditation consideration. The benefits of affiliating this conference to a foreign body are enormous. The major reason is to ensure that modern trends in education get to us promptly to impact on teachers and improve learning,” she said.
