Company distributes bags, learning materials to pupils, school

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility towards the education sector, itel mobile has distributed its branded school bags and other learning materials to pupils of Local Government Primary School, Shogunle, Lagos.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility towards the education sector, itel mobile has distributed its branded school bags and other learning materials to pupils of Local Government Primary School, Shogunle, Lagos.

The mobile technology giants donated the education materials, in its monthly CSR initiative, “Love always on”, geared towards empowering pupils and students in different schools in communities across the nation.

The Marketing Manager, Itel Nigeria, Marvin Umebiye said, the technology company is keen on promoting education in communities, as it serves as an important tool in building a better nation.“We have always looked at making people better and making life better, so education is one tool and we always look at it from the very beginnings, that is why we have come to these schools, we support their education and the pupils turn out to be better citizens and the society becomes better,” he said.

He added that as a company committed to the welfare of it customers, the love always on initiative is an avenue to show appreciation by giving back to the society.

Also speaking, the Marketing Communication Manager, Itel, Oke Umurhowhwo said the initiative has made tremendous progress in improving the standard of learning among students across the country and the education sector since its inception, reaching out to over 15 schools.

“Education is key and itel mobile would continue to promote Nigerian education. The initiative is for both public and private, although we have been having challenges to penetrate into the public schools with their criteria, but we let them know we want to share love with the pupils. We have gone round the geopolitical regions in Nigeria to share our love with the students and we are here to donate school bags, academic maps, calendars and other education materials to help them learn comfortably,” he added.

Commending the initiative, the Head Teacher, Local Government Primary School, Shogunle, Abiola Hadijat said it would enable children have a sense of belonging that people do care for the well being, calling on other corporate organisations to invest in the education of children as
they are the future leaders of this country.

“They are the children of Lagos state government and the government is taking care of their education need. But for them to know that someone is out there, who is interested in their progress in education and learning is good,” she said.
