Cleric Rallies Support For Buhari
NIGERIANS, irrespective of religion affiliation and tribe, have been called to support Muhammadu Buhari-led administration, as a way of making the country regain its position among comity of nations.
The Supervising Bishop of United African Methodist Evangelical Church Cathedral, Abule-Oja, Yaba, Lagos State, Rt. Revd Sanyaolu, gave the advice in his sermon delivered at the elevation and conferment of chieftaincy titles and awards on some deserving members of the church.
Copiously quoting from the Bible, the cleric noted the awards are for higher responsibility on recipients to further improve the society.
He enjoined them to embrace their new accolades, a genuine call from God that must be treated with utmost respect, humility, genuine love and concern to the plight of all, especially the poor and the continued drive and expansion of the Church. The Bishop charged the recipients to draw closer to God and win more souls for Him.
He also called on the rich to use their wealth and treasure for the betterment of the society and the nation.
The cleric charged Christians and other leaders in authority to be genuine, preach Christ and stand against vices or other crimes that could dent the societyís or nationís image.
