Bodyboost Fitness Club holds fitness programme

Several studies have shown that physical and mental fitness play very important roles in human lives and people who are both, physically and mentally fit are less prone to medical conditions as well.

To encourage and motivate the people towards reaching their fitness goals, by Bodyboost Fitness and Health Club, recently conducted Fun Walk For Fitness & Violence Free Environment tagged May Fitness Mayhem programme, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The event has continued to receive rave reviews from participants, sponsors and organizers following the huge success recorded and the impact of the fitness and aerobic programme on their health and wellbeing.

The event which took place on May 29, 2018, (Democracy Day) kicked off with a fun walk for fitness from the Body Boost Fitness and Health Club through the streets of GRA to Polo Club for Aerobics, and continued through Aba road, Evo road before terminating at the BodyBoost Club where a dance fitness event was conducted.

Chairman/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Elshcon Group, Dr. Emi Membere-Otaji, said the event was a huge success and express joy that it accomplished the set objectives. According to him, the massive turnout of organizations and persons from diverse background was a clear demonstration of just how serious people are beginning to take the fitness, health & wellness programmes.

Membere-Otaji, who is also the President of Port Harcourt Chamber of Commerce, said the programme was conceptualized as a way of imbibing the culture of healthy lifestyle on the people.

“We are excited and encouraged by the number of persons that turned out including strategic heads of institutions and government agencies, captains of industries among others. We wish to profoundly appreciate organizations and individuals who collaborated with us to ensure the success of this event”, he said, giving assurances that with the success of the maiden edition of the May Fitness Mayhem programme, a similar one will be organized sometime in October.

The event attracted high profile individuals like including high ranking paramilitary and business men, Managing Director (MD)/CEO of Wider Perspectives Limited, Mr. Kalada Apiafi, among several dignitaries.

Apiafi said the importance of physical fitness in daily lives could not be over emphasized. According to him, people who are fit are capable of living life to its fullest. For the BodyBoost May fitness Maynhem programme he said, “I must commend the organizers for the success even though the rain tried to rattle us. I will want to suggest they organize it monthly by that way it can really swiftly meet its desired goal.

Manager of BodyBoost Fitness Club, Mrs. Gift Adewusi, said the BodyBoost May Fitness Mayhem programme was organized to encourage and motivate the people towards reaching their fitness goals.

“It is a mixture of exercise and fun walk to make the entire process seamless but yet with the needed exertion. Wellness initiatives like ours have a social or interactive component that can boost wellness, motivation and morale and of course encourage networking. She appreciated organizations and individuals who participated, especially those that co-sponsored the event, assuring that a similar event would be organized in October.
