Asahi Brands Limited, distributor of Bridgestone and Firestone tyres in Nigeria has concluded plans to introduce mobile tyre service facility to its customers as part efforts to allow customers experience auto care and after sales services.

The facility is expected to bring a team of experts with equipment to the doorsteps of its customers with improved efforts towards customer relations.

The firm also revealed that it will set up one tyre service centre in every quarter.

Speaking at the inauguration of Bridgestone and Firestone tyre service workshop in Ikeja, Lagos on Tuesday, Group Deputy Managing Director, Kewalram Chanrai, Victor Eburajolo, said the outlets were designed to provide customers with an enhanced retail experience and a better feel for the brand, adding that tyres purchased from its outlets would be fitted along with free wheel alignment and balancing of the vehicle.

Eburajolo said in view of the harsh economic situation, there was a need to spend wisely by embracing quality products and services.

He stressed that this informed the decision by Asahi Brands Limited to expand the tyre service centres across Nigeria as well as establish mobile workshop in conjunction with Bridgestone Middle East.

General Manager, Bridgestone, Middle East, Gaurav Malhotra, said Nigeria remained a strategic market for the brand, adding that with the launch of a new tyre service centre every quarter, it hoped to capture higher market share.

He said: “Over the past two-three turbulent years, we have been making steady inroads into the Nigerian market as this is a pivotal market for our growth in the sub-Saharan Africa.”

Director, Auto Division, Afriventures said, Anil Sahgal, said the company’s one-year warranty of unconditional replacement of any damaged tyres purchased from its outlets was unique and meant to give the customers peace of mind.

He said, “The age old partnership with Bridgestone has enabled us to secure a strong customer acknowledgement for our products. We aim to have a larger mind space with the customers in the premium tyre market in Nigeria.

“The Asahi Tyre Zones will help us increase visibility for the Bridgestone and Firestone brands, and will endear us further to the consumers, as they experience our world-class products and services.”

A statement by the firm also indicated that with developing road infrastructure, Nigeria has above 90 per cent radialisation levels in the passenger vehicle segment.

“Asahi Brands Limited, with its Bridgestone and Firestone car radials, which has already received high acceptance from Nigerian customers, is keen to further establish the dual brand at the top tier of the car radials marke,” it stated.

According to the firm, with the opening of Asahi Tyre Zones, Asahi Brands Limited now has seven such branded retail outlets in Nigeria.
