Ambode to tour local councils, as reforms begin
IN line with his election campaign promises, governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State is scheduled to begin the tour of all 57 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state to take stock of their needs.
Ambode made this disclosure on Monday, as he set machinery in motion for reforms in the local councils in order to be more responsive to the needs of the people.
While reassuring that his administration would not take the communities for granted, the governor said that he would embark on Local Government tour in the next few weeks to appreciate the communities and get their needs directly as part of his commitment to participatory governance.
The governor, at a parley with members of the various CDAs, Community Development Councils (CDC) and other stakeholders, said the intention of his administration was to give governance back to the people in line with the objective of an all inclusive government.
