Al-Jameel tasks Muslims on steadfastness

Arowolo, who spoke at the yearly Ramadan Lecture of the association in Oke-Odo, Lagos, said Muslims should watch out for temptations from satan and seek refuge in Allah to overcome such that might lead them to hell fire.

Also, the Guest Lecturer at the event hosted by Sheikh Kamaldeen house, Sheikh Abdul Razak Shugaba, enjoined all Muslims to maximise the opportunities in the holy month of Ramadan, and in particular the distinguished night of Lailatul Quadri when destinies are reviewed by the almighty Allah.

He noted that shytan has been tied down in the holy month therefore believers should seize the opportunity to do more of spiritual obligations and cleansing their minds.

Shugaba urged Muslim scholars to be steadfast and preach righteousness rather than concentrating on material things that serves as temptation to deviate people from the path of Allah.

He quoted the Holy Prophet Mohammad (S.A.W) as saying every polytheists; deceitful scholars; interest and bribe takers; deceitful traders; the greedy ones; and fornicators, among others, are friends of shaytan (satan) while his enemies are Prophet Mohammed; reciters of Holy Quran; those that call to prayer; the cheerful giver; righteous scholars and every believing Muslims.

Noting that many Imams have deviated from the right path as stipulated by the holy Prophet Mohammed (SAW) due to their quest for wealth acquisition, Shugaba admonished them to make a new resolution and preach the truth and guide people to the righteous path.

He enjoined Muslims to obey their righteous mind and shun the deceits of shytan, stressing the need for fervent prayers and frequent recitation of Quran to ward off every evil.

“Anyone that aspire to be great must not sleep and must not relax, we should endeavour to wake at night and observe tahjud prayers fervently. You have to strive hard to achieve enviable goals, “ he said.
