Energy Mix Limited through its subsidiary, Energy Mix, will today hold a workshop on Nigeria’s off-grid investment opportunities in partnership with the Renewable Energy Association of Nigeria (REAN) in Lagos.

In a statement, the Founder/Chief Executive Officer of Energy Mix Limited, Noma Olushola Garrick, said the gathering would discuss issues around solar and off-grid from stakeholders’ perspectives.

According to him, participants include investment professionals, private sector players, financial institutions, solar companies, power, law firms, government agencies as well as regulatory bodies, international and local support agencies and development institutions.

He hinted that the workshop would also foster business relationships, explore opportunities and engender profitable ties for the betterment of the sector.

Garrick recalled that a recent meeting of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), World Bank and the Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI) found out that developing off-grids to complement that of Nigeria could create a $9.2 billion (N3.2 trillion) market yearly for investors in mini-grids and solar home systems. They would also save $4.4 billion (N1.5 trillion) yearly for Nigerian homes and businesses.

Chairman, Power Sector Group, Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Mr. Effiom Edet, is chairing the interactive session while REAN president, Mr. Segun Adaju; REA Managing Director, Mrs. Damilola Ogunbiyi; Head, Power & Infrastructure, Stanbic IBTC, Mr. Abiodun Oni; and Partner, Power & Infrastructure, Olaniwun Ajayi LP, Mr. Wolemi Esan; are to make presentations.
