EduTams unveils new hub, offers N25m grant for tech startups

Foremost school management solution provider, Edutams, has announced a N25 million grant to tech startups interested in building new innovative solutions.

The founder/ Chief Executive Officer of EduTams, Ademola Adenubi, explained that the grant will help in creating more innovative solutions to drive the digital transformation in education.


Adenubi who spoke at a media chat and facility tour of the new Edutams iHub located in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, stated that 10 per cent of Nigeria’s public and private schools partially use technology to drive education services and delivery, hence the need for greater collaboration to provide an overall value.

“ What we are trying to do is that we know there is need for more innovative solutions to drive the digital transformation in education and part of our core value is to collaborate with other founders and startups to deliver all round value to the education system.

“ So we are looking for new innovations, new startups to work with and we are saying yes we would provide that grant facility, make it available to any new ideas that works in line with our vision. So that that fund will allow those founders build innovative solutions that we can work with,” he said.

He explained that aside the grant, the EduTams iHub incubation centre would be made available to at least five startups to enable them work efficiently and comfortably.

Adenubi the centre would be working with the Ogun Tech Community (OTC) in identifying and selecting new startup founders.

He said the centre is looking for not less than five, adding that the appropriate structure for the selection process will happen and the appropriate framework to identify and select will also happen.

” We would be providing our facilities, the EduTams iHub, the incubation center for this startups to be able to complete the development of their solution,” he said.

Reeling out its impact in Ogun education sector, Adenubi stated that over 1.5 million students have been assigned unique Learner Identification Numbers to monitor their profiles, while more than 2,000 teachers have created online lesson notes.

He also added that over two million students have online access to their results, and both public and private school systems offer simple methods for inter-school transfer and placement.

In his remark President of Ogun Tech Community, Durosinmi Adekunle, lauded the innovation and assured Edutams of it full support.

Adekunle said by providing a conducive space for collaboration, learning, and innovation, “you are contributing significantly to the growth and prosperity of our local tech community. We are behind you and will continue to give you our support.”
