Edo 2024: I’m certain of victory, Iyere says

Candidate of Accord Party for the 2024 Edo Guber Poll, Comrade Kennedy Iyere has affirmed that he is certain of victory in the forthcoming September guber polls.

Iyere disclosed his assurance of victory in Abuja during a briefing on the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) N100bn Fertilizer Intervention.

He stressed the need for Nigerians to demand transparency and accountability from the CBN and the Federal Ministry of Agriculture in view of ensuring an equitable distribution process.

He said: “Nigeria’s problem is not the lack of good initiatives but the lack of political will to patriotically and selflessly implement programmes for the common good. Food Security is a social factor that is too sensitive and risky to be politicized, which means that the distribution of these fertilizers to farmers should not be made a partisan project.”

He urged President Bola Tinubu to work with competent stakeholders across party lines towards ensuring the success of the CBN-anchored fertilizer intervention.

Iyere noted that the success of the fertilizer distribution programme would be determined by the patriotism and the selflessness of those who would be assigned by the government to coordinate and supervise the distribution process.

He urged the government to involve stakeholders from traditional institutions, religious groups, farmers cooperatives and Non Governmental organisations (NGOs) in the distribution chain.

Iyere re-affirmed that he would be elected the next Governor of Edo State in the 2024 Edo guber poll.

“I will be announced the winner of the 2024 Edo guber poll, as candidate of Accord. My victory will be historic and will indeed mark the beginning of the political and economic rebirth of Edo State. Both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will suffer a huge defeat at the polls.

Stressing his commitment to driving a result-oriented state-wide guber electioneering campaign, Iyere promised to be the change desired by the people.
